Strawberry Jam

 Ingredients

2lb (900g) strawberries, hulled & washed
2.2lb (1kg) jam sugar

 

Method

  1. Place strawberries in preserving pan with sugar
  2. Heat gently until sugar has dissolved, stirring frequently
  3. Bring to the boil and boil steadily for 4 minutes, or until setting point is reached
  4. Skin with slotted spoon and leave to stand for 15-20 minutes
  5. Stir gently, pour into hot sterilised jars
  6. Cover, label, date & store in cool, dry dark place.

 

Makes about 4lb (1.8kg)
